Dr. Dickerman offers a comprehensive treatment plan from the first office visit, catered to the patient’s specific needs and for the almost 2,000 patients seen per year only 350-400 end up requiring surgical intervention. He has access to the most up-to-date intraoperative instruments, including access to a 10 million dollar intraoperative MRIneuronavigationintraoperative monitoring as well as works with specialists in all fields to provide the best overall care for his patients. For over a decade, Dr. Dickerman has remained in his current positions with specific hospitals due to the overall success in patient care and currently works with specific operative staff and nurses that are experienced in handling brain and spine patients.

We as a practice believe we can offer the highest quality of genuine neurosurgical care to patients and strive to continually improve and advance our own practice through research and advanced training. He continues to perform research and collaborate with other neurosurgeons and neuroscientists from around the country to advance current surgical techniques and treatments.

Dr. Dickerman commonly treats patients from around the nation and has operated on patients from as far as Brazil and Canada. For patients from out-of-town/state, there are discounted rates at local hotels available through the office. Please contact our office for any assistance on transportation needs.

He offers advanced micro-neurosurgical techniques for spinal cord tumors, brain tumors. Combined and specialized postsurgical care coordinated with local radiation oncology and neuro-oncology, in one site.

Conservative Care

Braces

A variety of cervical, thoracic, lumbar and sacral braces are available for patients requiring external fixation (stability) in either conservative care or surgical patients.

Medications

Dr. Dickerman is affiliated with numerous pain management physicians and clinics for convenience to the patient. There are numerous medications tailored to the patient’s specific disorder and many patients may be managed with appropriate medications and physical therapy.

Physical therapy

Dr. Dickerman is a strong advocate of physical therapy and believes most patients can relieve most of there spinal pain with appropriate exercises and therapy. Dr. Dickerman prescribes specific exercises to each patient depending on their disorder. He is affiliated with physical therapy clinics around the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and surrounding areas for patient convenience.

Pain management

Each patient should have a trial of conservative care unless there are neurological issues that require only surgery. Pain management is not just pained medication but includes physical therapy, myofascial treatments, chiropractic, pathoanatomical specific injections (facet injections, epidural injections, trigger point injections, joint injections etc.) and when indicated psychological consultations.
